Waiters & Bartenders - Event Staff

We are looking for waiters and bartenders to join our team working at events throughout Melbourne.

About The Role

  • Wait & bar staff for weddings and other events
  • 3 plate carry, 5 plate clear and standard banquet service
  • Pick and choose which shifts you work
  • Events are throughout Melbourne but most are within 10 mins or so of the CBD

About You

  • Comfortable with 3 plate carry (youtube and practise if you need to!)
  • Available to work at least two Saturdays per month
  • Staying in Australia for at least 3 months
  • Friendly and work with a smile on your face!

Function Chef in Charge

About the Job

As a Function Chef in Charge you will take the lead of a small kitchen team on-site at events. You will predominantly work events at one of our venues, which gives you a unique opportunity to make this venue your own, under the guidance of our Head Chef. Events range from 50pax cocktail events, to 300pax seated weddings.

The role will include:

  • Assisting the Head Chef pack your event into one of our vehicles
  • Driving the vehicle, food & equipment onsite to the job
  • Liaising with the front of house function supervisor to setup and operate the on-site kitchen
  • Leading a small kitchen team onsite at the event, which may include a casual chef or two and some kitchen hands, to ensure the food service for the event is exceptional
  • Returning the vehicle to our production kitchen in Elsternwick at the conclusion of the event
  • If you are interested in prep shifts as well, the role can also include mid week prep shifts

About You

You must meet these requirements:

  • Catering experience (ideally off-site catering) in which you have been the chef in charge leading the kitchen
  • Available to work flexible hours as required by the role, including weekends onsite at events
  • Logical, calm and a natural problem solver
  • Friendly demeanour & able to create a positive & happy working environment for the casual staff members working with you
  • Able to commit for minimum 12 months & looking for long term employment
  • Drivers license & comfortable driving a van

Kitchen Assistant & Casual Event Chef

About the Job

We are looking for casual kitchen assistants and casual chefs to join our on-site kitchen team!  As a member of our kitchen team, you will work onsite at events to prepare and serve exceptional food to our guests.  You will predominantly work at one of our venues, but will have the opportunity to work across multiple venues if preferred.  Events range from 50pax cocktail events, to 160pax seated weddings.

The role will include:

  • Unpacking the food & equipment from our vehicles
  • Preparing food for service under the guidance of the Chef in Charge
  • Plating and serving exceptional food to the guests at the event
  • Assisting with washup and pack up, which may include packing vehicles or operating the dishwasher

About You

You must meet these requirements:

  • Available to work flexible hours as required by the role, including weekends onsite at events
  • Available to work at least two Saturdays per month
  • Friendly and work with a smile on your face
  • Able to commit for minimum 6 months
  • Preferred but not required:
    • Drivers license & comfortable driving a large van
    • Catering experience (ideally off-site catering)

Event Setup & Pack Up Crew

About the Job

We are seeking Event Setup & Pack Up Crew. You will be responsible for setting and packing up our events. Setups will include unloading trucks & vans, installing lighting while on a ladder, moving furniture, setting tables with cutlery, plates, glassware and linen, setting up basic sound systems and assembling simple furniture. Pack downs will include loading trucks, uninstalling lighting, washing cutlery/crockery/glassware, and minor repairs on equipment. Due to the nature of the events industry, some of the work will be late at night and on weekends. For example it would be typical to work some shifts during the week setting up events and washing tableware, and some shifts on a Friday or Saturday night from 11pm to 3am packing up an event. The work will generally be located within 15-20 minutes of the CBD. We have plenty of shifts and growth potential within the company for the right people.

About You

• Comfortable driving a van or a small truck (car licence only)

• Comfortable climbing a ladder

• Must be in Melbourne for minimum 6 months Experience is preferred but not required. We are happy to train the right person.

Event Management & Social Media Intern (Unpaid Internship)

Looking to break into the events industry?!  This internship may be perfect for you!  We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to gain hands on experience within our boutique event coordination agency.

About The Role

Event Coordination

  • Obtaining quotes from suppliers such as photographer, entertainer and caterers
  • Researching and documenting suppliers
  • Assisting with the creation of styling and themed packages
  • Creating event run sheets

Social Media & Marketing

  • Developing a following on instagram and facebook
  • Drafting blog posts for our website and social media
  • Assisting with the creation of our newsletters

About You

  • Enthusiastic about the events industry
  • Available at least 1 day per week
  • Interested in learning more about event coordination
  • Experience not needed

Preferred Requirements

  • Own vehicle/manual drivers license preferred, but not required
